Venerable Dekhung Gyaltsey Rinpoche

Many years ago a great Saint Lama by the name of Ugen Lingpa forecast that in the future a special messenger, a Rinpoche, would be born and greatly extend religious activity. Thus the name Gyaltsey Rinpoche was inscribed.

Recognised by the His Holiness the 16th Karmapa, Venerable Dekhung Gyaltsey Rinpoche is a senior teacher of the Karma Kagyu tradition and is well acquainted with all of the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Rinpoche has studied and practiced Tibetan Medicine and Chinese acupuncture and is a highly respected healer. He is tireless in his dedication and commitment to benefit others.

Venerable Dekhung Gyaltsey Rinpoche has studied Buddhist teachings in great depth and gained qualification as an Archarya - the highest Buddhist Philosophical Qualification.

In addition to his spiritual and healing activities Venerable Dekhung Gyaltsey Rinpoche is involved in the administration of Rumtek Monastery, the main seat of the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje in Sikkim India, as an adviser and key decision maker in the day to day running of the monastery. He teaches higher Buddhist philosophy at the monastic college at Rumtek as well as overseeing the management of the “Drupkhang”, the meditation centre started by the former incarnation of H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

Rinpoche speaks fluent Tibetan, Mandarin, and is currently learning English. Rinpoche has taught extensively in Sikkim (Himalayas of India), Malaysia and Australia.
