Precious Guru, all refuge in one,
I pray to you, Great Lord of Dharma,
Look upon me kindly and bless me,
In this life, the next and in between.

In every life may I never part,
from my Guru, enjoy Dharma's wealth,
Accomplish the stages of the path
and swiftly reach Vajradhara's stage.

Through your perfect wisdom, you see things as they are,
Through your great compassion, you embrace all beings as your children,
Through your omniscient power, you uphold the precious Dharma,
Through your boundless kindness, you reveal the path to liberation

Perfect and precious root guru and heart father, Ngawang Khyenrab Lekshe Gyatso,
all the sugatas in one, I bow to your lotus feet.

His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche has entered into Parinirvana on the morning of 22 January 2007 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

When His Eminence Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche heard this news, he praised His Eminence as follows:-

“Outwardly, His Eminence is a Theravadin Arhat,
inwardly he is a great Mahayana Bodhisattva,
and secretly he is a mahasiddha/Vajradhara.
It is truly rare to have encountered such a precious master,
it is as rare as seeing a star in the day”

It is with heart of sadness I have to inform you of the passing away of His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche at his new residence outside Kathmandu last night Sunday 21 January) at 11pm Nepalese time. After a brief complication with his feeling of an uncomfortable lump in his throat Rinpoche peacefully passed away. All the monasteries have been informed to engage in as many prayers as possible.

I have called a prayer gathering tonight (Monday 22 January) at our centre in Canberra 9.00pm and I urge all other centres and disciples to do likewise for the next few weeks. A date of funeral is yet to be announced and situations permitting it would be good for devotees to attend. You will all be kept informed of any develoment. Both His Holiness Sakya Trizin and His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche are expected to go to Nepal soon to assist and guide with all the necessary arrangements.

The best practice is to do Guru Yoga prayers from the Ngondro manual as well as Confession Sutras and Samantabhadra's prayer with lamp offering. A Prayer vigil will be arranged soon and will be notified how best to take part in at local centres.

Prayers and blessings
Lama Choedak Rinpoche
